The Festival of Imagineers was a vibrant showcase of local, national and international work at the intersection of art and engineering. For a week each September, we presented a festival of performance, exhibitions, installations and talks in and around Coventry city centre, bringing together local, national and international creative thinkers and innovators.
The Festival of Imagineers ended in September 2018 after 4 years of really successful programming and audience development. The relationship that Imagineer was beginning to form with Artichoke and our Burning Man, who were guests to the festival in 2018, and then our visit to Nevada, inspired us to begin to form a new partnership. Since then we have conceived a much larger regional event with national and international significance which celebrates work at the intersection of art and engineering and architecture and the industrial heritage of the region which looks forward to also celebrating an innovative technological West Midlands region with environmental sustainability at its heart.
With a 6 month research and development grant from Arts Council England in January 2020, we have been working together to create a business and delivery plan for Combustion.

Funding partners: Great Places, Arts Council England, Coventry University, Coventry BID, Medwell Hyde, Study Inn, City of Culture 2021 Trust.
